The Foothills Women’s Society Community Breast Cancer Fund exists to provide timely, compassionate, and practical support to individuals in our local community who are impacted by breast cancer. This fund is a collective pool of locally stewarded resources, created by a community who believe no one should face the financial and emotional burden of breast cancer alone- especially here at home.

Why This Fund Matters

A breast cancer diagnosis brings not only physical challenges, but also unexpected financial strain - travel to treatment, missed work, childcare needs, medical supplies, and everyday expenses that do not pause during illness.

Our Community Breast Cancer Fund is designed to step in quickly and thoughtfully, meeting real needs at real moments.

How the Fund Works

Foothills Women’s Society works directly with Cancer Patient Nurse Navigators in our community- trusted professionals who walk alongside patients throughout their cancer journey. By partnering with these navigators, we are able to:

  • Identify individuals and families who need assistance

  • Ensure funds are distributed responsibly and discreetly

  • Remove barriers and red tape so help is hassle-free and timely

  • Keep resources local, supporting neighbors within our own community

This approach ensures that support reaches those who need it most- without added stress during an already difficult season.

  • Yes! The Foothills Women’s Society is a registered nonprofit organization. Donations made to support our mission are tax-deductible as allowed by law.

  • Your donation goes directly to supporting a breast cancer patient in our community. Patients are referred to us by trusted cancer patient navigators, ensuring help reaches those who need it most.

  • We’re so grateful for the desire to help. At this time, Foothills Women’s Society does not utilize volunteers, as our role is to steward and distribute funds directly to patients. However, we encourage supporters to get involved by volunteering with or attending breast cancer–focused events and organizations within our community.

  • Yes. In-kind donations help us provide comfort and practical support to breast cancer patients in our community. We currently accept:
    • Gift cards
    • Breast and port pillows
    • Mastectomy bras and prosthetics
    • Wigs and headwear

  • Yes. Donations may be made in honor or in memory of a loved one as a meaningful way to celebrate their life or legacy while supporting breast cancer patients in our community.description
